We’re back! The photo contest was on a week-long hiatus, but now we’re starting things back up again. This week we have photos from Rooted photographers Peter Gaunt and Cassandra Adamson. First, Peter’s shots:

Photo 1: Giant strands of beads adorn two women while standing in the crowd gathered on Sixth Street celebrating Fat Tuesday.

Photo 2: Fat Tuesday is met with the question of “What If?” while party-goers mingle on the crowded downtown street.

Photo 3: Austin police stand in circles along Sixth Street to keep a 360-degree view of the party scene.

Photo 4: The glimmer of a sequened shoe blurs down the Sixth Street on Fat Tuesday in downtown Austin.

That’s all for Peter, now on to Cassandra’s shots:

Photo 5: A friendly squirrel appears to pose for the camera in a wooded lot located near the network of streams and rivulets found around 5th Street.

Photo 6: A fresh green branch of leaves hangs over a rusty footbridge downtown.

Photo 7: The City of Austin Power Plant sits behind a bend of railroad tracks.

That’s all for this week, thanks for stopping by!
