Around Austin photo contest 11/29/10

This week we have photos from Rooted photographers Peter Gaunt and Cassandra Adamson, along with a few submitted photos from Reagan Hackleman. Photo 1: A sea of cars is parked all around the Barton Creek Square mall on Black Friday.

Photo 2: Birds flock to telephone wires above the intersection of Barton Springs Road and South First.

Photo 4: A biker rides the medium dirt ramps at the user-maintained dirt bike park on Ninth Street.

Photo 5: A biker soars into the air as he hits the expert high dirt ramps the 20-year-old, user-maintained park on Ninth Street.

Photo 6: A bird with damaged tail feathers appears to look wistfully out across the river.

Photo 7: Only one Christmas-themed outline of a house can be seen on a dark stretch of road.

  13. Wow, they’re ALL great – as usual. But something about #9 really got me. I’ve never seen the flag photographed like this and I LOVE it! Very unusual and moving for some reason. Definitely #9, although the sunset, the bird, the action shots, even the vintage feel to the parked cars all have great qualities. Tom DeLay – what a classic news shot too! So – bravo ALL the photographers! Nice collection!
