Photo 6: Joseph “Top Gun” Valigura stands in front of the last load of water melons for this season’s late crop coming in late October. This is Valigura’s second season helping his melon farmer friend.

Photo 7: Sunset at McKinney Falls State park illuminates the turning leaves into bright orange.

Phot0 8: The grain of the tree bark swirls around a knot and is speckled with yellow mold.

Photo 9: The repetition in the domed center of the Capitol creates a pleasing symmetry.

Photo 10: Although the dome is being rennovated on the outside, inside the Capitol building it is just as breathtaking.

Photo 11: Butterflies in the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center are carefully raised in a special house to boost the population.

Photo 12: Wildflowers preserved at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in south Austin continue their vibrancy well into October.
